Pitch & toss. . .

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

I’ve often wondered how sometimes in life when things are not going your way, a single random act of kindness could actually turn your whole day around just like that. It’s like sometimes you’re feeling down and out of luck and when something just clicks for you , it feels everything is just back on track and you’re ready to face the world again.

More often than not, when everything is going smoothly for you, something will go abit off and you’re thrown off this feel-good train and suddenly feel like the bottom just dropped.

It reminds me of Ruyard Kipling’s If

"If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster

And treat those two impostors just the same:

. . . . . .

"And–which is more–you’ll be a Man, my son!"

If we only could really treat those two imposters just the same, it’ll be a different story for most of us…

wouldn’t it? ;)

Birthdays

Thursday, January 25th, 2007

To be perfectly honest, i’ve never ever actually had that kind of
birthday surprise party where all your friends hide inside a dark room
and then jump out with a cake..
*sigh*

I just got back from a surprise birthday party for a coursemate of
mine. We all gathered in her room about 5 mins before she came back,
switched off all the room lights, lit the candles on the cake and
waited for the signal from 1 of her house mates…

Then it came..

Housemate 1 : aiya mellisa* ni hoay lai le ah?

The cue for us to shush up and prepare to pounce…
Voices were heard coming up the staircase…
A little light banter between the target and her housemates..
We were suffering from the heat cause the fan was off *swt*…

….

..
.

SUrPrISe!!!

Wah!!..she opened the door, screamed then quickly shut the door. . .

O _  O""""  ~ wahlaueh~

She was shocked out of her skull and slammed the door in our faces as a defence mechanism…

What
to do ar… we open the door then sang birthday songs while seeing her
almost weeping… in trauma or touched beyond words, that still remains
a mystery.

Cake was good! Haven’t had a good cake in quite a bit  *hint*hint*

Justin

Saturday, January 20th, 2007

I’m abit lost when it comes to chinese music.. the biggest names i know are David Tao, Lee Hom and Jay Chou.

I happened to chance upon Justin, as in Justin Lo, and found that his style of R&B / Jazz feel towards his songs are quite refreshing rather than the staple diet of pop/ " listen to my er-hu" , hip hop genre.

All in all i enjoyed his albums " no protection"  and " justin"  very much and look forward to more from this artist.

Cheers,

For my project, which is 1 sem long, i have been assigned find out more on the supernatural forces amongst the indian community. At first i thought it was going to be easy. Just google and a lil bit of wiki would yield some results.

At this point i’m still no closer in finding out what are the supernatural forces in the indian community. This has made me a bit worried and thus i have to start tracking down indians to interview them….

The only problem is I don’t have any indian friends here. Not that i’m racist or anything, but the indian population here in general isn’t exactly huge.

How many indian ghost stories have you heard? I never thought about it, but how come when i try to think of indian ghost stories, i cant think of any vivid image.
If you were to say chinese of malay ghost, surely its easy to get an imagery of the supernatural in that context… but indian…. b l a n k

So, if you’re reading this and you’re indian:
Give me a buzz. I’d appreciate the help :)

if you’re not an indian but have an interesting indian ghost story, and you’re reading this :
Help me find indianz to interview ;)

SHE….

i love ‘her’ so much.

Hijacked: white coffee

Thursday, January 4th, 2007

Very funny la.. what a start to the new year.

As it is i’m already behind in fulfilling my new years resolution, and up comes more temptation.
You ever find that the moment you resolve to do something, surely an event will pop up to derail you?

resolution no 1 : not making any resolutions cos they are absurd

trial no 1 ….   : 1st day at cafeteria kena potong by the aunty ( 1 vege, 1 chicken + rice = rm4.00! )

quietly resolve not to kena potong by aunty anymore!

resolution no 2 : lose weight - this 1 sure on every1s list ;)
trial no 2 ….. : Friends ajak go Tambun . . . . which then took a turn to Batu Kawan… which took a turn to Juru.. * swt  *

resolution no 3 : Not to kena hijack and kidnapped…
trial no 3 ….  : kena hijack and kidnapped back to penang . . . .

Ghai la…
At this rate i might as well resolve not to strike lottery.. maybe i will strike hor  >.0
